Meet our Team
We are a uniquely chosen group comprised of physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists,
psychologists, nurses and personnel equipped and skilled to provide the latest
and safest techniques and methodologies in “Weight Loss.”
Anesthesia is important to weight loss surgery patients. We have a select
group of anesthesiologists who have a special interest in this type of surgery.
Many of our anesthesiologists are also cardiac anesthesiologists from Arizona
Heart. There are different levels of skills for anesthesiologists—we
handpick our anesthesiologists.
We have a number of psychologists who assist our patients. One of them,
JoAnne, is a band patient herself. JoAnne is available to help patients get
through emotional eating or even to get the required psychological evaluation.
Our bariatric coordinator is Christine Walt. Christine is a weight loss
surgery patient who knows what it means to lose weight and be successful.
She participates in teaching days, seminars, and will help facilitate your
journey.
Dr. Simpson’s nurse is Carol. She is an experienced operating room
nurse who has seen thousands of operations and is now enjoying seeing patients
just before and after surgery.
Our nutritionist is Nancy. Nancy has been working with Dr. Simpson for years.
Nancy sees all patients pre-op, and after surgery and is present at the support
group meetings. In addition, we have two classes she teaches, that all of our patients are welcome to come to
