Largest Single Incision Series
Dr. Simpson has reported the largest, to date, series of patients who received the lap-band using the Single-incision method."This method has enabled patients to get their band with fewer scars, and less pain."
Using some of the new instrumentation Dr. Simpson was able to safely use the single-incision method in a large series of patients with an operative time average of less than 30 minutes.
"While the operative time is not a key, it takes however long it takes, this shows that single incision surgery is possible in a great number of patients, and that the technique can be learned by most advanced laparoscopic surgeons."
