For some who feel that a seminar isn't necessary, you may wish to proceed to an appointment.
During the appointment you will meet with Dr. Simpson and go through your health history. You can fill out a lot of your health history on-line or at home. This will save you money. To do that please click here (when they click we need them to fill out the demographic form that goes to our office the subject line could be. We also suggest you read, and download "Weight Loss Considerations" form.
All patients will be required to have a psychological evaluation prior to surgery. This is not a screening process, although some insurance companies require specific tests to be performed.
If you have a history of heart disease, or are over the age of 50 we may require a cardiologist to clear you for surgery, or we may ask that you have a stress test prior to surgery. Please note, we do not offer this surgery to patients who are 60 years old and older.
We do have pre-op teaching days prior to surgery, as well as an on-line program (EMMI).
From the time you have your pre-op requirements (psychological evaluation, any additional tests, and teaching) and we have a written authorization (or payment) to the time you have surgery is generally two weeks.
