Your budget is a crucial aspect of your decision. We provide you various options for payment or financing packages.
Because our new basic package of $9995 is the lowest, but no frills package- many have decided to forgo insurance and pay for the surgery, and work with insurance to pay for after-care (adjustments and office visits). Gastric plication is $12,500.
“The best investment I ever made.”
There is no better investment than in your own body. Is there a price you can put on feeling better? When was the last time you went dancing? How about buying clothes off the rack?
The insurance industry continues to set more and more roadblocks to getting an operation for your health. As a result we are seeing more people pay for this operation out of their pocket. In addition to offering the lowest prices for the LAP-BAND and Gastric plication in Arizona, we have put together a variety of companies that will help you finance your surgery. What is a better investment than your health?
We accept most insurance plans, and can help you negotiate the complex requirements your insurance company may have. But too often insurance companies have exclusions to weight loss surgery, or to the band.
“I was going to take a home equity loan to fix up the house. Then I heard about the LAP-BAND, and decided that it was time for me to get fixed up. I was approved for the loan in two days, and a week later had my band. In the first month I lost 15 pounds! Oh—with the prices of houses, I not only was able to get my band, but I also got my house fixed up. It was the best investment I ever made. I feel better, I sleep better, and I can walk more. And I am taking my kids to Disneyland in October because now I can fit on the rides! Thank you so much.”

Credit Cards—You may be able to take advantage of some low rates that are available with many credit cards. Credit cards are often as easy to qualify for as a loan; in addition, many credit card companies offer flexible payments and faster decisions. Please keep in mind, however, that they may not offer a credit line large enough to cover the procedure and interest rates are subject to change.
Loans—Options include home equity, secured, unsecured, and combination loans from a financial institution such as a bank or a credit union. Loan approval and eligibility will usually be based on the credit worthiness of the borrower. Lenders often take into consideration credit rating, current earnings, assets, and future assessments. Multiple borrowers increase the likelihood of loan approval. This means that you may consider asking a loved one to co-sign or to apply for the loan on your behalf.
Monthly payment will vary based on the term of the loan and the interest rate. If you borrowed $10,000 towards your procedure at an interest rate of 10 percent over 5 years, then your monthly payment would be $21.25 per $1,000×10 equaling a mere $212.50 per month. This is far less than an average car payment!
Potential Tax Savings— In the year you make either a cash payment or finance your LAP-BAND® System procedure, you may be eligible to receive thousands of dollars back in potential tax savings. Think of this as a discount on your procedure. IRS Publication 502 states you can deduct your medical and dental expenses when they total more than 7.5 percent of your adjusted gross income. Speak with your tax advisor or see IRS publication 502 for details.
There are various companies that specialize in Healthcare Financing and will finance this type of surgery. Here are just a few that we at Southwest Weight Loss Surgery and our patients have worked with:
