I. Reading Discussions
Anyone with an Internet access can read the public discussions on these boards. Discussions are arranged by categories. Southwest Weight Loss has four categories:
- New Patients’ Corner
- Weight Loss Surgery Procedures
- Affordability
- Weight Loss Surgery Graduates
Each category contains forum titles. You may refer to the list below:
New Patients’ Corner
- Community Bulletin
- Getting Started
- Feedback
Weight Loss Surgery Procedures
- LAP-BAND®
- Gastric Bypass
- Other Procedures
Affordability
- Benefits and Costs
- Insurance
Weight Loss Surgery Graduates
- Losing Hair
- Nutrition
- Exercise and Fitness
Forum titles give direction to your posts -- which are referred to as threads or topics.
The Message Board’s index page summarizes all of these and indicates as well, the number of posts available on each forum. To read discussions, select the forum title of your choice and click on the corresponding thread you would like to see.
II. Participating in the Discussions
Only registered patients and members of the MDnet Bariatrics Community can take part on the forums. To register, please go to www.southwestweightloss.com/Default/Register
What you can and cannot do on each forum or thread is summarized at the bottom right part of the page.
To begin, follow the following instructions:
1. Take a look at our new Patients’ Corner, particularly, the house rules on the Community Bulletin Forum as well as the FAQs on house rules at the Getting Started Forum.
2. Click the Login icon at the upper right part of the page and indicate your username and password. (Make sure that you have received the email telling you that your account is active before proceeding.)
3. You are able to keep track of all new posts, your posts as well as unanswered posts by clicking the corresponding action at the upper right portion of the page. These quick links may help set you into place.
If you already know the forum where you would like to post threads, click on the corresponding forum title and select a corresponding thread you would like to common on, then post a reply.
If the thread or topic is not available, click new topic.
Again, what you can and cannot do on each forum or thread is summarized at the bottom right part of the page.
